Tasting Notes

  • Colour: Soft, crimson purple
  • Bouquet: Savoury and enticing dark berry fruit with fine peppery spice. Charming rustic notes.
  • Palate: Very classy. Mediun-bodied with fine layered tannins and elegant structure. Complex. Very clean finish of fresh, pure, dark berry fruit.
  • Vineyard & Vintage Comments: From all our Shiraz vineyards across the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The 2011 harvest will go down as one in which it never stopped raining, with as a result high incidence of disease across the Barossa which reduced yields and made for a very "European" vintage. We believe that our Biodynamically-grown vine were able to withstand the inclement weather. the resulting wines are lower in alcohol, high in natural acidity, and more savoury than traditionally in the Barossa. We believe these are excellent wines and show that the Barossa is capable of coping with and triumphantly expressing vintage variation even in the most difficult of years.

Food Pairing
