Tasting Notes

    James Halliday Rating
  • Colour: Deep, clear, crimson-purple
  • Bouquet: Intense red currants and ripe berries
  • Palate: Polished and focused with super-fine coating tannins. Smooth, supple blackcurrant and cassis fruit, perfectly balanced with fine oak tannins.
  • Vineyard & Vintage Comments: Maverick's Barossa Ridge vineyard is situated at the foot of the ridgeline which runs North-South through the Barossa Valley. While the warm climate ensures optimal ripening and tannin maturity, cooling evening breezes provide for the development and retention of varietal characters. The 2009 Maverick Twins Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot was given 93 points by James Halliday in his 2013 Australian Wine Companion.
