The overlying concept behind Maverick is to create wines which express the very best of our different terroirs across the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley.
This in turn is reflected in two different wine series.
The Maverick Single Vineyards series represent wines made from grapes from specific vineyards chosen from and representing in our opinion the very expressions of our estates/terroirs - these are with one exception both single vineyard and single varietal wines.
The Maverick Twins series is based on wines which have been vinified as single vineyard wines. These are then blended between two or more vineyards in the finest of Australian wine making traditions to give a product which expresses again in our opinion the best overall varietal character from across the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. In order to make these Maverick Twins wines more affordable we have decided to use stelvin caps and line pricing so that you can choose between identically priced wines of different varieties, all made from Maverick-sourced grapes.
Both the Maverick Single Vineyard series wines and the Maverick Twins wines are we believe excellent wines of their genre.
The Single Vineyard wines will generally be sought after by the wine afficionado, where the Maverick Twins wines will appeal to both the beginner/casual drinker and the connoisseur.
