Description
The 2008 Paraview Shiraz displays all the hallmarks of the prestigious
Stonewell sub-appellation on the bunks of the Para River in Barossa Valley.
Dark, luscious berry fruits, and exotic spice elegantly supported by a
combination of new and reconditioned oak. A perfect example of a fast-maturing,
full, complex but elegant and easy to drink Barossa Shiraz.
Colour
Dark, inky garnet
Bouquet
Ripe berry fruits, powerful yet balanced. Relatively fast maturation in new and reconditioned fresh oak puncheons gives a seamless collage of spice and dark fruits.
Palate
Complex but very approachable, the ripe, soft berry fruit gives a palate with beautiful mouth-watering texture, which has length, concentration and beautiful finish.
Perfect with
all red meats, game, duck and cheeses
Vineyard and vintage comments:
The Paraview vineyard is planted exclusively to Shiraz and is owned by David and Ann Braunack, whose Barossa family roots and custodianship of this exceptional site are as old as the viticultural history of the Barossa. From deep red loams springs quintessential Barossa Shiraz. The vineyard is impeccably managed with state-of-the art canopy management giving perfect fruit clusters. A very short harvest with high temperatures nonetheless yielded perfect ripe fruit which was vinified in small open top fermenters then matured in new and reconditioned fresh oak puncheons..
Proprietary bottle
For the first time this wine (as with all Maverick Single Vineyard Shiraz’s) is in a bottle specially designed by internationally-acclaimed Jasper Morrison.
