Description
Fruit for the 2007 Twins Cabernet blend was sourced almost entirely from our Barossa Ridge vineyard. Wonderful varietal fruit characters, great elegance and depth of flavour are its hallmarks..
Colour
Deep brick red with garnet hues.
Bouquet
Lifted with intense red currants, violet aromatics and ripe berries. Interwoven with the fruit, hints of tobacco, spice and dusty cedar oak provide contrast and balance.
Palate
Polished and focused with super-fine coating tannins. Lovely ripe berry fruits are interwoven with notes of tobacco, spice and classic Barossa dark chocolate. The finely textured palate is elegant, balanced and long.
Perfect with
Grilled and roast beef or lamb, game, pasta, strong cheese
Vineyard and vintage comments:
Maverick's Barossa Ridge vineyard is situated at the foot of the ridgeline which runs North-South through the Barossa Valley. While the warm climate ensures optimal ripening and tannin maturity, cooling evening breezes provide for the development and retention of varietal characters. Mild to warm conditions over spring and summer led to the rapid maturation off fruit and onset of vintage. In spite of extream heat in Jan/Feb 2007, conditions in the Barossa were favourable for very good colour and tannin development as well as good acid and pH levels.
